MAGA TV host Gina Loudon called out President Donald Trump's administration after Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard was expected to be absent from Senate intelligence briefings on Iran.
After The Washington Postreported that Gabbard, who had initially said Iran was not close to having a nuclear weapon, had been sidelined, Loudon demanded answers during a conversation with MAGA influencer Steve Bannon on Thursday.
"I just can't pretend like the emperor is actually running around fully clothed," Loudon said. "Why isn't Tulsi Gabbard on the Hill today?"
"My view and the reason Tulsi Gabbard is not on the Hill today, I believe, is because the nuclear process, this whole thing that we're talking about," Bannon replied, "is like in a movie and the movie's not talking about a 'Top Gun.' It's one of the ones from the 30s. It's a MacGuffin."
"It's a physical object, which a MacGuffin is the physical object is that drives the story, but it's quite frankly irrelevant to reality," he added. "It's like the Maltese Falcon, or it's the passports in Casablanca. It's a classic narrative device."
"And the entire nuclear process, as we see today, because President Trump obliterated with one bombing run and one Tomahawk missile hit, it's a MacGuffin."
