A self-proclaimed "MAHA Mom" unloaded on President Donald Trump for engineering the defeat of Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY).
Zen Honeycutt, executive director of the grassroots group Moms Across America, warned the president on CNN's "The Situation Room" that she and others who are involved in the "Make America Healthy Again" would withhold their electoral support for betraying what they believe he promised during his 2024 campaign.
"We championedpolicy and public servants who put children, health, safetyand America's future first, andthat's exactly whatRep. Massie was doing," Honeycutt said. "The irony is that he wasrunning, he was championing thevery issues that Trump ran onwhen he got elected, which isputting small farmers first, you know, supporting health andgetting pesticides out of ourfood, and also, you know, he put forth all kinds ofissues for health and safetythat Trump said that he wasgoing to do."
Honeycutt said her movement delivered about 9 million votes and represents one of the biggest blocs of swing voters, but she said Trump's actions have alienated many of them.
"WhatI'm seeing now for the midtermelections is that this group ofpeople who are extremelydisgruntled," she said.
"I'm seeing Republicans saying that they feel marooned, that they don'thave a place, they're seeingwhere to put their vote, and soI'm seeing a rise of thepotential for a third party, and as a mom, I'm very excitedbecause we are not beholden toa political party. We vote forthose who put health and safetyfirst. The last election showedthat, and unfortunately, thiselection with Massie, it gotshut down by three billionairesand foreign money that camefrom other countries, and thatis not America. That's not howwe need to be working. That'snot what we want to see goingforward."
"But, in fact, what'shappening right now is Massieis freed up the next sevenmonths," Honeycutt said. "He has nothing left tolose, right? He is going to letit rip on the Hill, and he will, and I think Trump's going toregret that, and it frees himup to be able to run forpresident, which his supportersare screaming for, so we'reactually excited about what thefuture holds. We are not going to stop. MAHA is not crushed. We're not going away. We aregoing to continue to fight forthe health and safety of ourchildren."
