Man, 25, dies in fall from Manhattan Bridge after fender-bender

A 25-year-old man died early Tuesday after falling from the Manhattan Bridge following a minor fender-bender on the span, police said. The man rear-ended an Uber driver on the lower level of the East River span about 1 a.m. and then got out of his vehicle and ran off down the roadway toward Manhattan, witnesses told cops. Investigators suspect the man had been drinking before the crash and ran away to avoid the possibility of a drunk driving arrest, a police source said.
