Marine at 'Occupy Chicago': We need to change things

A former member of the U.S. Marine Corps at the "Occupy Chicago" protest told independent reporter John Sheehan that he supported the movement because Americans need to change things back to they way they were, "where the people are in control" instead of corporations.

He was at the weeks-long demonstration to support the "99 percenters." He said that as a Marine he had taken an oath to defend the Constitution and the U.S. from dangers within and outside the country, "and this is one of the cases where its within, and we need to change things."

"I haven't really seen any major news coverage of any of the events, and I'm really surprised at that, because they covered the ones in Libya and Egypt with such gusto," he continued. "And I think it's because they don't want the people to know what is going on."

“Occupy Chicago” began on September 23 in solidarity with the “Occupy Wall Street” protest in lower Manhattan. Hundreds of protesters have demonstrated day-after-day at a busy corner outside the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.

At least after they tried to expand their demonstration to Grant Park.
