Marine injured at 'Occupy Oakland' released from hospital
November 14, 2011
Scott Olsen, , has been released from the hospital this past weekend.
"I'm feeling a lot better, with a long road in front of me," Olsen said on his Google Plus account Sunday. "After my freedom of speech was quite literally taken from me, my speech is coming back but I've got a lot of work to do with rehab."
The 24-year-old Marine Corps veteran suffered fractured skull and had trouble speaking after he was hit in the head by a police projectile, which most witnesses described as a tear gas canister. It was not immediately clear what struck Olsen.
Despite the incident, Olsen promised he would soon return to the protests.
"You'll be hearing more from me in the near future and soon enough we'll see you in our streets!"
