'The left wants a civil war': MTG ramps up the rhetoric after Trump shooting

While lawmakers on both sides of the aisle are attempting to calm the waters and put to rest concerns after former president Donald Trump was shot in the ear during an assassination attempt, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) has gone on a tear on X, formerly known as Twitter, with accusations, finger-pointing and hints of war.

After the incident in Butler, Pennsylvania was reported, Taylor Greene lashed out on her social media platform with: "Democrats wanted this to happen. They’ve wanted Trump gone for years and they’re prepared to do anything to make that happen. "

After bashing the press for their coverage as it was happening, ("These people are sick. Don’t deserve to be on television. When will the media hold themselves accountable for the violence they incite while pointing the blame everywhere else") late Saturday night, she took up her crusade on Sunday morning by accusing the "left" of wanting a "civil war."

On X she wrote, "Pray for America. The left wants a civil war. They have been trying to start one for years. These people are sick and evil. All of us on the right want peace, security, equal justice, freedom, and prosperity for ALL Americans. Trying times ahead. Hold fast to your faith and God."
