Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene received some pushback on Thursday when she criticized President Joe Biden's decision not to participate in a primary debate.
Greene, who recently attacked her fellow Republicans over a funding deal that she said was a "huge win for Democrats," implied that Biden's refusal to debate meant that he wasn't cognitively qualified to do so.
"Not only has the Democrat party refused to set up any Democrat primary debates, the Biden campaign has now said they refuse to participate in any 2024 presidential debates!" Greene exclaimed on social media. "Joe Biden can’t even speak properly without note cards and teleprompters bc his cognitive decline is so bad!"
Greene went on to say, "Democrats are in bad shape and they know Joe Biden will get destroyed by Trump in a debate."
But Greene's preferred candidate has taken a similar stance, and her followers were quick to let her know just that.
Jenna Ellis, the former Trump attorney who pleaded guilty in connection with the Georgia RICO case and has since turned against the former president and endorsed Ron DeSantis, was among those who chimed in to point out the alleged hypocrisy.
"Why haven’t you advocated for Trump to participate in any Republican primary debates then too?" Ellis asked. A Greene follower replied, "Bc he’s the nominee," and Ellis added, "He is? Before any votes are cast, just based on polling? How does that work?"

A user named Sandy also replied to Greene's post, saying, "Pot kettle. Where's Trump? In court. Not one debate. Hypocrisy."
A user called Nita had a similar take: "Umm, have you spoken to your boy? You can't call out Biden and then run cover for Trump, who is not debating. That's just weird."
Yet another commenter said on Thursday, "No sitting president in my life ever had primary debates. Trump didn't have a primary either and now refuses to participate in the Republican primaries. Why project so much when it's painfully obvious?"
