MAGA candidate's lawsuit against CNN has 'no exhibits substantiating denials': analyst

North Carolina Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson on Tuesday unveiled a defamation lawsuit against CNN over its reports that he once boasted about being a "Black Nazi" in posts made on a pornographic web forum.

But independent journalist Bryan Anderson, a former North Carolina Statehouse reporter for the Associated Press, posted a link to Robinson's entire 16-page lawsuit and found that it contains "no exhibits substantiating Robinson’s denials" made by CNN in its report.

In fact, an examination of the entire lawsuit shows that Anderson's description is accurate.

It contains no evidence that CNN was incorrect about Robinson's history of making racist, sexist, homophobic, and overall offensive posts on the website NudeAfrica last decade.

The CNN report also claimed that Robinson posted graphic descriptions of purported sexual encounters with his wife's sister on a pornographic website last decade.

Instead, the lawsuit states only that the posts could have theoretically been faked by someone who stole Robinson's identity.

"[CNN] chose to publish despite knowing or recklessly disregarding that Lt. Gov. Robinson’s data—including his name, date of birth, passwords, and the email address supposedly associated with the NudeAfrica account—were previously compromised by multiple data breaches," the lawsuit states.

"Any person could have purchased and/or used Lt. Gov. Robinson’s data to create accounts all over the internet. As CNN is aware, people who create accounts on websites like NudeAfrica, and AdultFriendFinder prefer not to use their own names and identities for obvious reasons."

Robinson also has a long history of writing offensive posts on his Facebook account, including accusing pop star Beyonce of being a "devil-worshipping skank" and claiming that former NFL star Ray Rice's girlfriend brought a "whooping" on herself when video showed him punching her unconscious.
