Marvel Comics founder Stan Lee unloads on the crazy rumors surrounding his final years

In a probing interview published in the Daily Beast, entertainment reporter Mark Ebner sat down with Marvel Comic founder Stan Lee to discuss a string of bizarre controversies buffeting the comic book mogul.

Lee, at 95, has been embroiled in a series of controversies involving his daughter, J.C. Lee, whom many of his former friends, colleagues and handlers have accused of elder abuse. His former associates, in turn, have been accused of exploiting Lee in various ways. There's even an allegation that a former associate stole his blood to mark up copies of Black Panther comics.

The Daily Beast discussed these issues and more with Lee.

"Glad to meet you. Do you miss the change of seasons back in your old stomping grounds of Long Island?" the Daily Beast asked Lee at his home in Los Angeles.

"Not at all," Lee replied.

"You’re a dyed-in-the-wool Angeleno now, aren’t you?"

"I’ve been an Angeleno now for 40 years, so I’m pretty used to it. I love it," Lee said.

From there, the two discuss the drama that have roiled his later years.

When the reporter asked about stories that his daughter was abusive, Lee dismissed the claim.

"I’m not sure if you’re aware of this or not, but there have been stories out, and at least one upcoming story with allegations of elder abuse on you by your daughter," he asks.

Lee retorted, "I wish that everyone would be as abusive to me as JC."

His daughter then interjected to clarify her father's statement.

"[Interjecting] He wishes everyone was so abusive," J.C. Lee said.

"She is a wonderful daughter. I like her. We have occasional spats. But I have occasional spats with everyone. I’ll probably have one with you, where I’ll be saying, “I didn’t say that!” But, that’s life," Lee said.

At the conclusion of the interview, Lee admitted to what he missed most about doing his day-to-day work.

"I don’t miss the signings. I miss the creating. And that’s the writing I’m waiting to do."
