Here's how Mary Trump helped the Manhattan DA track Uncle Donald's new patterns of tax fraud

In an interview with the Daily Beast's Molly Jong-Fast and Rick Wilson, Donald Trump's niece, Mary Trump, applauded Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. for getting his hands on her uncle's tax returns, while admitting she may be credited with giving prosecutors a helping hand making their case for fraud.

On Thursday, the DA was handed what was described as "millions of pages" of documents that prosecutors and forensic accounting specialists have likely begun poring over as they try and put together a case against the ex-president now residing at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.

According to Mary, during the wide-ranging interview, while she has not seen Donald Trump's most recent taxes, she did have access-- as part of a lawsuit she has filed against her uncle which is still pending -- to her grandfather, Fred Trump's tax returns.

She suggested those forms will allow prosecutors to compare the numbers for the Trump Organization -- along with property valuations then and now -- and look for discrepancies.

"The taxes I gave them are old and from my grandfather's company. So I think [the newly released ones ] will be really helpful in establishing patterns where such patterns actually exist," she explained.

She went on to compare her uncle to mobster Al Capone who was finally taken down and convicted by the government for tax evasion in 1931.

"If he goes down because of his taxes, Al Capone-style, I'm all for it," she told the "New Abnormal" hosts. "And if it's bad enough, which it's going to be, I think his ability to stay out of jail decreases significantly."
