Maya Rockeymoore Cummings tells Maddow she’s running for deceased husband Elijiah Cummings’ seat

The widow of former Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) announced on "The Rachel Maddow Show" on Monday she would be officially announcing her campaign for his seat.

Maya Rockeymoore Cummings resigned as chairwoman of the Maryland Democratic Party in anticipation of her bid.

She will also be undergoing a previously-planned double mastectomy this week.
