Sen. John McCain seems to love all things military.
At a debate this weekend, the Arizona senator went so far as to declare that missiles produced by one defense contractor were "wonderful."
"What I would do is to give our small businesses a tax break," McCain explained.
"I would tell the corporations which are very important, like Intel and Raytheon and others in our state, we’ll cut the corporate tax rates so that you won’t have to send jobs overseas. We’ll continue… I’ll continue to support the military and our bases and the men and women who are there and the thousands of employees, including our people over in Mesa that make the Apache helicopter and down at Raytheon that make these wonderful missiles and Intel that’s doing such a great job in employing so many people that I’ve supported for so many years," he said.

"Wonderful missiles"... I can't believe he said that, but he did. I can't think of a single reason to call missiles "wonderful" unless you think dropping bombs on people's heads is a "wonderful" thing. There's an argument to be made for "necessary" for civil defense which I'm not going to get into the weeds on here since IMO we're over-armed to a ridiculous extent for what's actually necessary for civil defense and have been for some time now, but "wonderful"?
The comment was reminiscent of remarks McCain made at a campaign stop in 2007 "bomb, bomb Iran" to the tune of of a popular Beach Boys song.
This video is from C-SPAN, broadcast July 17, 2010 and uploaded by Crooks and Liars. McCain's comment (about missiles) is at about 1:25.
