Media expert explains why ABC gave Roseanne Barr her own show despite her racist history

On CNN's Anderson Cooper 360, media analysts continued trying to make sense of ABC's decision to give Roseanne Barr her own show given her long history pushing racist conspiracy theories on Twitter.

Media expert Brian Stelter had a simple answer: the profits were worth it for ABC, until they weren't.

"ABC decided to spend the money to bring it back," Stelter said. "For a while it looked like the reward was worth it," Stelter noted. "But it backfired today."
