'The media has got to stop creating more of these monsters': NRA's Dana Loesh blames TV coverage for school shootings

Having lost the battle to avoid talking about gun control in the wake of mass shootings by forever claiming it's too soon, the right wing has switched to a strategy of blame-shifting.

In the wake of massacres like the one in Parkland, we've seen the NRA and Republicans try to blame video games, "mental health" and doors.

Now, after another deadly day in which up to 10 innocent schoolchildren were slaughtered, the NRA's Dana Loesch is floating a new villain: The media.

By talking about gun violence and the people who perpetrate it, she claims, the mainstream media is making the problem worse.

"The media has got to stop creating more of these monsters by oversaturation," she said. "I'm not saying don't responsibly report on things as they happen. I understand it. But constantly showing the image of the murderer, constantly saying their name, is completely unnecessary."
