Meet the quack Tea Party doctor behind the rumors that Hillary could keel over and die at any minute

Have you noticed lately that right-wing news outlets such as Fox News and Breitbart have been increasingly questioning Hillary Clinton's physical health?

Well, it turns out that there's a doctor who has been leading the charge in "exposing" that Hillary Clinton is purportedly physically unfit to serve as commander-in-chief -- and she heads up a medical organization that pushes all kinds of quackery.

The Daily Beast notes that Dr. Jane Orient, who heads up the 5,000-member Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS), has been pushing some strange theories about Hillary Clinton's health and claiming that she's physically ailing beyond what any in the mainstream press are reporting.

In one particularly crazy blog post from this week, Orient used "videos widely circulated on the internet" as a means to diagnose Hillary Clinton's alleged maladies from afar.

"One shows prolonged, inappropriate laughter; another, strange head movements," wrote the doctor. "In a third, she appeared momentarily dazed and confused, and lost her train of thought."

Orient also points to a photograph that shows Clinton slipping while walking up steps and being helped by people next to her from falling.

"Now inability to climb stairs does not necessarily disqualify a person for public office," writes Orient. "However, neither she nor people with her apparently anticipated a problem. The people helping her seem to be preventing a fall. Did she simply trip? Or was it a seizure or a stroke?"

Yes, it seems that one photograph of Clinton is all it takes for this eagle-eyed physician to speculate that she might be having a stroke.

At any rate, it turns out that the AAPS has a history of publishing a lot of articles that don't stand up to scientific scrutiny. Mother Jones reported years ago that AAPS has published pieces suggesting a link between abortion and breast cancer, as well as between vaccines and autism.
