Melania reveals why she skipped Mar-a-Lago Christmas with the Trumps this year

Former First Lady Melania Trump skipped out on having Christmas celebrations with her husband's family this year. And she has now told Fox News the reason why.

A source told Fox News Digital Wednesday that Melania Trump did not attend the Trump family Christmas at Mar-a-Lago this year so she could be with her mom, reported Brooke Singman.

"Melania has always been very devoted to her entire family," the source said. "It should be no surprise that she spent this Christmas with her ailing mother."

Melania Trump told Fox earlier this year she supports Trump's 2024 presidential campaign and that it would be a "privilege" to serve as first lady again, according to the report.

But this is not the only time the former first lady has been absent. Reports indicate that she is rarely ever seen at Mar-a-Lago, even as former President Donald Trump has made the country club his primary residence.

She has not been completely absent from the spotlight, however.

Earlier this month, she posed for a controversial photo-op at the National Archives, which has raised eyebrows given Trump's apparent efforts to hide information from that agency that led to federal charges being brought by special counsel Jack Smith.

She also created a series of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) this year, to commemorate the 54th anniversary of the moon landing.
