Mike Huckabee: Anti-abortion shooter is 'abominable' like Planned Parenthood killing 'millions of babies'

Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee declared on Sunday that the Colorado gunman who killed three people and injured nine was a domestic terrorist, and that what he did was wrong -- just like Planned Parenthood's abortion services.

During an interview on CNN, host Brianna Keilar pointed out that the shooter had seemed to reference a controversy over Planned Parenthood videos that had been hyped by abortion foes in recent months.

"Regardless of why he did it, what he did is domestic terrorism," Huckabee admitted. "And what he did is absolutely abominable, especially to those of us in the pro-life movement because there's nothing about any of us that would condone or any way look the other way at something like this."

After adding that the shooter had committed mass murder, Huckabee took a shot at Planned Parenthood for performing abortions.

"There is no excuse for killing other people whether it's happening inside the Planned Parenthood headquarters, inside their clinics where many millions of babies die or whether it's people attacking Planned Parenthood," he opined. "We ought to value life. Every life truly does have worth and value."

"I don't know of any pro-life leader -- any -- if you can tell me one, please correct me -- but I don't know of anybody who has suggested violence toward Planned Parenthood personnel or some act of violence towards their clinics. I've not heard that, not from one single pro-life person."

As for Huckabee's plan to criminalize abortion, he insisted that women would not be jailed for aborting their pregnancies.

"There are two victims with every abortion, one is the unborn child who loses life and the other is often that woman who is talked into the abortion, pressured into it, maybe feels she has no other option," he remarked. "There's no reason to criminalize her."
