In an announcement on his Fox News show tonight, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee has said that he will not be running for the Republican nomination in the 2012 presidential race.
Huckabee teased out the publicity around his decision for as long as he could, tiptoeing around the question in Friday interviews and saving the announcement for the end of his program tonight. "My heart says no," he said.
He insisted in an email to supporters last night that, "once I pull the trigger Saturday night, things will get even crazier, as if that's possible.” Presumably he means that with regards to the candidates left in the GOP field.
