In a rather awkward moment, former vice president Mike Pence was asked for dating advice by a college student on Thursday night.
The student, who identified himself as "Bobby Hummer," addressed Pence from the audience following a lecture at Texas A&M University, part of the former vice president's ongoing tour organized by Young America's Foundation.
After calling the Trump-Pence administration "the greatest of all time," Hummer said their biggest accomplishment was the former president's decision to pardon rappers Lil Wayne and Kodak Black on his last day in office, prompting cheers and laughter from the audience.
"My question is a bit more of a personal one," Hummer added. "You're getting a lot of political questions, so I need a wise man to answer this for me: What do you think is the most effective method to getting a girlfriend in college?"
"Well that's a tough one, because as my wife knows, I didn't date anyone before her," Pence responded after a long pause. "You know what, go sit down, you don't have any problem, I can tell."
Newsweek notes that Pence and his wife, Karen, met during a Catholic church event while he was in law school and have been married since 1985.
