Not everyone in Milwaukee is excited that the Republican Party will be rolling into town to hold their national convention where delegates will presumably anoint Donald Trump as their 2024 presidential candidate.
According to the owner of The Mothership, a local bar with a raucous reputation, he wants no part of the horde of conservative delegates who will be descending on his community between July 15 and the 18th, so he announced on Facebook this week he'd rather shut down for a few days until after the hubbub dies down.
In an interview with WISN, Ricky Ramirez bluntly stated, "Don't mix alcohol and politics."

Building on his Facebook announcement where he wrote, "Sup idiots pretty funny that we’re open for s----y weather today but our snowflake a---s won’t open for the rnc lmao yo bar is open and a certain basketball team from a few miles away from bar are playing the Philadelphia basketball team jawns cheese steak Wawa rocky balboas and we will have it on our tvs and who knows maybe right after it we will have cool butts on the tv come to bar and get sloshed I’m losing my goddamned mind come on down to the mommy," he told WISN he also had no interest in renting out his place for private parties for Republicans.
"I'm not trying to get involved with or actively take money or rent the space out to that tomfoolery," Ramirez explained before confessing, "I think I would have done it if it was the DNC. Like, you know, there's a lot to be upset about right now, and they don't deserve a party, especially the fun party that we throw every single night here."
According to the owner, he is enjoying the attention his announcement has received nationally.
"It's really cool when, like, Rolling Stone reaches out to you, and they're like, this is worthwhile for us to talk to you about," Ramirez said. "I think everyone knows that this is kind of like a really crazy state right now."
He added he may hold private parties if they have nothing to do with the RNC invasion.
