Morning Joe rips Kellyanne Conway over Romney attacks — and she quickly fires back

Sources close to the Trump transition team said Monday that the president-elect is "furious" with campaign strategist Kellyanne Conway's comments on Sunday about Mitt Romney, the Morning Joe panel discussed.

"Kellyanne went rogue at Donald Trump's expense at the worst possible time," one source told MSNBC, speaking of Conway's comments about why Romney was not being considered for a cabinet spot.

Top aides were "baffled" by her comments, claiming that they feed a "growing concern inside the campaign that 'instead of driving Donald Trump's message, she's pushing her own agenda.'"

A few weeks back, journalist Connie Chung even called Conway the "only woman who won this election," adding that Conway "manipulated her boss so perfectly."

Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough claimed, "Kellyanne doesn't have a job yet [within the Trump administration] and she's angry about that. She hasn't been offered the job she wants."

"And so she's striking out," he added. "She's not in any of the meetings where these decisions are being made and she's angry about that, but at the same time, you don't go out and attack the vice president-elect because you're mad at Reince Priebus."

Scarborough was referring to a conversation between Trump and Pence last Saturday, which resulted in the vice president-elect announcing that Romney was "under active and serious consideration to serve as secretary of state."

Conway has already responded to Scarborough's Monday segment. Jesse Rodriguez, a senior producer of the MSNBC show tweeted, "Kellyanne Conway responds to @Morning_Joe reporting, calling it 'false' & 'sexist.'"

Conway added that she can have any job she wants, Scarborough reported. "I'm not sure how that reporting is sexist," he responded. "Those were sources at the top of the campaign. Is she suggesting that the people that she's working with ... are sexist?"  Watch the full segment below.
