MSNBC guest details specific threats she got from MAGAbomber: 'He threatened to toss my body in the Everglades'

A former congressional spokesperson who was targeted by suspected MAGAbomber Cesar Sayoc earlier this month explained to MSNBC the difference between the usual abuse she and other public political figures receive and the threats he made towards her.

"When I found out that I had been contacted by this bombing suspect, I was livid. I was scared," Rochelle Ritchie told MSNBC's Ari Melber Friday evening. "I was not only scared for myself but my family."

She pointed out that while the mail of the prominent Democrats Sayoc mailed pipe bombs to are "vetted by Secret Service" and staff people, hers is not — and if someone sent her a bomb in the mail, it may be more likely to detonate.

"I'm used to this," Ritchie admitted. "I'm used to being called the n-word, the b-word or whatever, I don't care."

It's different, she noted, "when you start to threaten my life and you talk about throwing my body in the Everglades."

In the tweet Sayoc, using the name "Cesar Altieri," sent Ritchie on October 11, the bombing suspect suggested he would kill the former congressional staffer and throw her body into Florida's Everglades.

"We have nice silent Air boat ride for u here on our land Everglades Swamp [sic],” the threatening tweet read. “We will see you 4 sure. Hug your loved ones real close every time you leave you home [sic]."

Ritchie's account of Sayoc's threats against her first went viral after she revealed that Twitter did not consider the tweets to be a "violation of the Twitter Rules against abusive behavior."

She later revealed in her interview with Melber that after the publicity her tweet garnered, Twitter messaged her to tell her the message had been sent to her "in error" and that Sayoc's account was being taken down.
