Mueller investigators grilled Jerome Corsi over link to Brexit conservative Nigel Farage: report

As special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation prods on, more and more conservative commentators linked to President Donald Trump are being dragged in.

On Tuesday, The Guardian reported that investigators had spoken to conspiracy theorist and book author Jerome Corsi about his connection to Nigel Farage, the right-wing British commentator.

Farage was one of the main driving forces behind Britain's vote to exit the European Union, otherwise known as Brexit. The vote, driven in large part by rural and older voters, is thought to have presaged President Donald Trump's surprise 2016 victory.

The Guardian reports that Corsi said federal investigators asked him for information about Ted Malloch, a London-based American academic with ties to Farage. He was interviewed by agents in early 2018.

“They asked about both Nigel and Ted Malloch, I can affirm that they did,” Corsi told The Guardian on Tuesday. “But I’m really not going into detail because I respect the special counsel and the legal process.”

But a spokesperson for Farage told The Guardian: "This is ill-informed, intentionally malicious gossip and wholly untrue."
