In 2017, NBC's general counsel allegedly threatened to ruin Ronan Farrow if he didn't stop reporting on Harvey Weinstein — even though he'd already left the network.
The Daily Beast reported Thursday that new details from people familiar with the conversation revealed that NBC counsel Susan Weiner made "several" calls to Farrow in attempts to get him to quash his reporting.
An NBC spokesperson who spoke to the Beast on condition of anonymity said the allegations are "absolutely false."
"There’s no truth to that all," the spokesperson said. "There is no chance, in no version of the world, that Susan Weiner would tell Ronan Farrow what he could or could not report on."
