New Mexico man says binge watching 'Walking Dead' made him beat his zombie roommate to death

A New Mexico man was in custody on Monday after he allegedly beat and killed his roommate to stop him from becoming a zombie.

Officers were called to an apartment on Sunday and found 23-year-old Damon Perry holding a knife and being detained by maintenance workers.

The body of 23-year-old Christopher Paquin was also found in the apartment.

According to The Associated Press, Perry told officers that the two had been drinking when Paquin began “to change into a zombie.” Perry said that Paquin had tried to bite him during the zombie transformation.

Perry blamed the incident on binge-watching AMC's The Walking Dead on Netflix. He was being held on a murder charge.
