Trump launches insult-laden attack on surging opponent: 'Birdbrain doesn't have the talent!'

Donald Trump took shots at surging Republican presidential challenger Nikki Haley in an insulting social media post Friday.

The former president and current GOP frontrunner reacted to another strong debate performance by Haley, who saw the biggest polling boost after the first Republican presidential debate, and has taken second place behind Trump in New Hampshire.

"MAGA, or I, will never go for Birdbrain Nikki Haley," Trump vowed. "No loyalty, plenty of lies!"

Trump apparently still holds a grudge against his former U.N. ambassador for breaking her pledge in 2021 that she would not challenge the ex-president if he ran in 2024, and he dramatically recounted an alleged conversation between them.

"'I will never run against our great President,' she said, 'he has done an outstanding job,'" Trump posted. "To which I responded, 'How nice of you to say, Nikki,' knowing full well that her words mean nothing. She even came to Mar-a-Lago with her family, 'bearing gifts.'"

"Anyway, Birdbrain doesn’t have the TALENT or TEMPERAMENT to do the job," Trump added. "MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"
