A supporter of former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haleytold the Washington Post that she's going to make herself support former President Donald Trump — despite admitting that he scares her.
The voter in question is 80-year-old Virginia resident Micki Stout, who supported Trump in both 2016 and 2020 before deciding to take the plunge for Haley in this year.
In her talk with the Post, she made her reservations about Trump very clear while still insisting he was a preferable alternative to President Joe Biden.
“I think [Trump is] so irrational and, really, very frightening," she said. "I think that if he allowed this January 6 thing to take place, he could try to take over the next time if he doesn’t win this one. I just think he’s dishonest and I don’t want that — but I think Biden is, too... I definitely won’t vote for Biden. I will have to vote for Trump.”

While Stout had resigned herself to backing Trump again, other Haley voters told the Post that they were reluctantly going to back Biden.
“I don’t know if I can identify as a Republican if or when Trump is the nominee," said 21-year-old Virginia voter Nick Gambill. "I have no intention of voting for him if he’s the nominee... I’d vote for [Biden] begrudgingly. I don’t want to have to do it but if I have to, I will — just to send a message that Trump’s bad. He can’t be anywhere near the White House again.”
“I worked in Congress when Jan. 6 happened," said 29-year-old Utah resident Elizabeth Rasmussen. "That was a bad day and I’d already been really upset with [Trump] before that, but that kind of sealed the deal... I wouldn’t say I’m excited about [Biden], just because I’m a little worried about his health. I believe he’s a good man, and that means a lot.”
