Ohio man tries to teach wife about gun safety -- accidentally shoots her

A Kettering, Ohio woman was shot in the leg during a gun safety demonstration by her husband on Sunday morning.

According to WDTN Channel 2, the incident took place around 10 a.m. and police said that the shooting appeared accidental.

Police told Channel 2 that the man was trying to demonstrate to his wife how to safely use a gun in their living room when the weapon discharged, striking the woman in the ankle.

The couple's adult daughter and her child were in the home when the weapon discharged, but no one else was hurt.

The injured woman was taken to Kettering Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
