Orlando gunman spotted on the job in BP disaster documentary: 'No one gives a sh*t here'

Six years before his mass shooting attack at an Orlando nightclub, Omar Mateen appeared in a documentary about BP's business practices, Sky News reported on Wednesday.

Mateen can be seen in the film The Big Fix while working for the company as a night security guard in Louisiana during the clean-up from the Deepwater Horizon spill in the Gulf of Mexico. The encounter is captured via hidden camera.

"There's people out here but they're scattered all over the place," he says after filmmaker Rebecca Tickell asks if she can speak to workers on site. "There's no one really to talk to like any supervisors. No one gives a sh*t here. Everyone's just out to get paid. They're hoping for more oil to come out and more people to complain so they'll have jobs. 'Cause once people get laid off here it's gonna suck for them. They want more disaster to happen 'cause that's where their moneymaking is."

The footage was first posted on Tuesday by a YouTube user who noted the resemblance between the guard and Mateen.

"I was shocked and could be wrong but the more I looked the more sure I became it was him," the user wrote. "If it is him, hopefully this can help authorities piece together where he was at this time."

The footage surfaced as the investigation continued into Mateen's rampage at the Pulse nightclub, which killed 49 people and left another 59 wounded, while also reigniting the debate regarding gun safety laws.
