Palestinians furious after 'tense' meeting with Jared Kushner: report

According to the Jerusalem Post and London-based Arabic daily al-Hayat, the meeting between Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and President Donald Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, went poorly.

The Post reports that Trump is now considering pulling out of Israeli-Palestinian peace negotiations following a "tense" meeting with Kushner and other White House senior staff.

According to reports, Kushner made demands of Abbas that came directly from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, leaving the Palestinian leader "furious."

"They sounded like Netanyahu's advisers and not like fair arbiters," a senior Palestinian official told Haaretz. "They started presenting Netanyahu's issues and then we asked to hear from them clear stances regarding the core issues of the conflict."

Kushner, sometimes referred to as Trump's "Secretary of Everything," was reportedly expected back in the U.S. where he is expected to brief the president on his diplomatic efforts.
