Parkland mom who screamed at Trump on-air after losing her daughter wins seat on school board

Lori Alhadeff became a story in the days following the massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. The mom of a slain daughter appeared on CNN screaming at President Donald Trump as tears streamed down her face. Tuesday night, she won a seat on the school board in a landslide election.

The former teacher won 65 percent of the vote up against 15 other candidates vying for five out of nine board seats, The Miami Heraldreported.

“I am so excited. I am elated,” said Alhadeff. “I can’t wait to start making change and start making an impact on the school board.”

Ryan Petty, whose daughter also was killed in the shooting, narrowly lost a chance to face off against incumbent Donna Korn.
