Pat Robertson doesn't know what 'a transgender' is, compares them to 'a former stallion who is now a gelding' anyway

Today on the 700 Club, Pat Robertson claimed not to know what "transgender" means.

"I may be an old fuddy-duddy," he said, "but what is transgender?"

Not that his profession of ignorance prevented him from criticizing "this whole business about transgenders, you’re saying they’ve got boy parts but they want to go to the girls’ restroom, that’s absurd."

Conservatives have been "horrified" about California AB 1266 -- which allows students to use restrooms based on the identity they choose, instead of the one assigned to them at birth -- since Jerry Brown signed it into law earlier this year.

Just two months ago, Robertson seemed to know exactly what "transgender" meant:

I think there are men who are in a woman's body. It's very rare. But it's true -- or women that are in men's bodies -- and that they want a sex change. That is a very permanent thing, believe me, when you have certain body parts amputated and when you have shot up with various kinds of hormones. It's a radical procedure. I don't think there's any sin associated with that.

Now, however, he says when "we talk about transgender, I have a former stallion who is now a gelding."
