WikiLeaks reportedly has at least 15,000 more pages of damning documents

The Pentagon is preparing for even more secrets to be released by the website WikiLeaks, a spokesman said Tuesday.

"We believe that WikiLeaks has in its possession additional documents that may be released in the future," Pentagon spokesman Col. Dave Lapan said at a briefing.

"They still have the 15,000 documents from Afghanistan. They still have a video from Afghanistan. Those are things they have talked about publicly," he continued.

"And we have reason to believe they have other documents as well," Lapan said.

WikiLeaks released a trove of almost 400,000 Iraq war documents last week. Some of the documents appear to indicate state-sponsored Iraqi killings and killings at US checkpoints.

In July, the website released some 92,000 documents about the Afghanistan war.

The military has charged Pfc. Bradley Manning with leaking video of killings of civilians in Afghanistan. They also suspect that he leaked 150,000 diplomatic cables but WikiLeaks denies having them.

WikiLeaks recently posted a mysterious encrypted "insurance" file which it encouraged other websites to mirror. Some suspect that the file contains unreleased material.

"Cryptome, a separate secret-spilling site, has speculated that the new file added days later may have been posted as insurance in case something happens to the WikiLeaks website or to the organization’s founder, Julian Assange," notes Wired.

"It’s not known what the file contains but it could include the balance of data that U.S. Army intelligence analyst Bradley Manning claimed to have leaked to Assange before he was arrested in May."
