Critics hammered President Donald Trump on Friday after news broke that another plane crashed this week, this time in Philadelphia.
A small plane carrying six people crashed into a parking lot area in Northeast Philadelphia around 6:30 p.m. Friday, causing a massive explosion and multiple homes to catch fire.
NBC Philadelphia reported it was an “angel flight” heading to Mexico. The plane went down within a minute of taking off, plummeting to the ground near the Roosevelt Mall.

Trump weighed in on the crash on his Truth Social platform.
"So sad to see the plane go down in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. More innocent souls lost. Our people are totally engaged. First Responders are already being given credit for doing a great job. More to follow. God Bless you all," he said.
Social media critics heaved criticism on the president, with some noting he's heading to Mar-a-Lago this weekend, some noting he hawked his meme coin around the same time of the crash, and others recalling his baseless claim that diversity programs contributed to a mid-air collision earlier this week in Washington, D.C., in which 67 people died.
"BREAKING: Another plane crashes in Philadelphia, and Trump is on his way to Florida for his second vacation in just two weeks since taking office. While Americans suffer, he abandons responsibility. Disgraceful," Democratic strategist Chris D. Jackson wrote on X.
"There’s no bottom. Less than two hours after the plane crash in Philadelphia—and just 48 hours after the deadly midair collision in D.C.—the Grifter-in-Chief took to Truth Social to pump his shitcoin scam. Absolutely disgusting," the anti-Trump account Republicans against Trump wrote on X.
"A plane just crashed in Philadelphia. Please stay calm while Donald Trump figures out which minority to blame for this," wrote Skyler Johnson, chair of the Suffolk Young Democrats in New York.
Johnson added: "My heart is with everyone affected by this crash, it’s horrific. And I am sorry in advance to the victims who will be dragged through the mud by the President of the United States and his cronies."
"There was a small plane crash in Northeast Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in a residential neighborhood. Welcome to Trump's America where planes keep falling out of the sky," chided the social media account Art Candee.
"Why are there all these plane crashes under President Trump? Another one just went down in Philadelphia! America definitely isn’t safer. My heart goes out to the victims and their families," wrote journalist Ed Krassenstein on X.
"Second plane crash, now in Philadelphia. And Donald Trump is in Florida. So he can go golfing all weekend," jabbed
Trump University prosecutor Tristan Snell.
"Federal, state and local authorities are coordinating their efforts to save lives in Philadelphia tonight. These are government employees who are the very people Trump and Musk criticize as grifters or DEI employees. Government IS needed. And usually functions well in America," wrote criminal defense attorney Sara Spector on Bluesky.
"Trump waiting to see if pilot of Philadelphia plane was a white person or not before blaming diversity for the crash. You think I'm kidding but..." wrote Wajahat Ali, co-host of The Democracy-Ish Podcast.
