Ex-CIA analyst: It would be a 'joke' if Ivanka Trump became the next UN Ambassador

Former CIA officer Phil Mudd joked that Ivanka Trump is definitely not qualified to take on the role as United Nations ambassador after Nikki Haley stepped down.

On Tuesday, while talking to reporters, President Donald Trump said Ivanka is perfect for the role, but noted that he would be accused of nepotism is he selected her.

During a panel discussion with CNN's Wolf Blitzer, Mudd said, "No one is more qualified [than Ivanka] to add amusement to the political landscape."

He continued, "Can you imagine that confirmation hearing? What training do you have? What experience do you have? What education do you have? What jobs have you had with the U.S. government that give you qualifications for this?"

Mudd added, "If you go through a confirmation hearing, and I have been there you have to show up with financial records. I assume, for her, those financial records would include records from her husband. She can't go through that. It would be a joke. "
