‘Demented’ Trump horrifies with massive move on power plants: ‘We’re all going to die’

Onlookers were left horrified Monday after The New York Times revealed a major policy “shift” being rolled out by the Trump administration regarding power plants.

“We’re all going to die because of this administration,” warnedMichael Knudsen, editor-in-chief of the pop-culture blog PopBytes.

According to the Times, the Trump administration is gearing up to eliminate limits on “planet-warming pollution that power plants pump into the air while burning coal and gas,” citing two insiders who spoke with the outlet on the condition of anonymity.

Since returning to office, President Donald Trump has pushed to dismantle a broad swath of federal environmental safeguards, arguing that climate and pollution rules impose unnecessary costs on businesses and consumers. Most notably, Trump’s Environmental Protection Agency moved earlier this year to repeal a 2009 endangerment finding, the legal foundation underpinning U.S. regulation on greenhouse gases.

With the Trump administration’s latest move, which aims to further deregulate the power sector — flagged by the Times as the “second largest source of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases in the United States” — countless critics were left taken aback.

“Donald Trump should just come clean and say he is out to destroy the world,” wroteDon Winslow, a prominent author and political activist.

Martina Navratilova, the world-renowned professional tennis player, called the Trump administration's move “pure insanity” and “reckless,” whereas comedy writer and filmmaker Zack Morrison quipped: “Can I sue the government for future murder?”

Political commentator and podcaster Marina Purkiss lashed out at Trump for apparently greenlighting the policy change, calling the president a “demented old b-----d who won’t even be around to suffer the consequences,” and Rep. Yassamin Ansari (D-AZ) floated a theory she argued explained the unprecedented regulatory rollback.

“Trump asked oil and gas CEOs to chip in $1BN to his campaign — they did — and they keep getting results,” Ansari wrote in a social media post on X, albeit with an overstatement on how much oil and gas executives ultimately contributed to Trump’s campaign.

“The corruption is sickening, never-ending and devastating for our health and safety. Ignoring the climate and AI crises will only hurt us.”
