Preet Bharara explains to Jake Tapper how much trouble Manafort faces: 'In every way it's terrible for him'

On Tuesday's episode CNN's the Lead with Jack Tapper, former US Attorney Preet Bharara explained just how screwed former Trump adviser Paul Manafort is following revelations that he may have tampered with witnesses.

"In every way it's terrible for him," Bharara said.

He explained that prosecutors often put pressure on people lower on the food chain if they can threaten actual jail time. "You wonder if someone is going to flip," Bharara said.

Even house arrest is better than jail, Bharara pointed out, joking that you can still watch cable news from home.

"The one thing that gets the mind to focus is the loss of liberty," he concluded.
