Maddow detailed how, in seat after seat, "the Trump genius" came in as Trump spent political capital in Republican primaries, successfully helping candidates emerge as the GOP nominee.

And how in race after race, the Trump supporter lost the general election.

Maddow laughed at how "the president believes he has real political genius when he comes to these things and he's not shy about doing this anywhere in the country."

Maddow continued to repeatedly cite Trump's "political genius" while explaining the dynamics and outcome of his campaigning.
