Prosecutors have asked a judge to give former Trump campaign aide George Papadopoulos between zero and six months in prison after he pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about Russian contacts during the campaign, reports the Washington Post.
Special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s team will be back in court for Papadopoulos' sentencing on Sept. 7.
The Mueller team declined to say Papadopoulos should not serve prison time and, as the Post reported, "instead deferred to a nonbinding federal sentencing guideline based on what both sides agreed was his conduct."
