Raw Photos: Citizen journalists document Mississippi River floods

The waters of the Mississippi River continue to rise and spread across the southern United States in the river's worst flood in 70 years. In some parts, the river has spread to six times wider than usual, and much deeper.

In Memphis, the usually half-mile-wide river is about three miles wide.

As the pressure mounts on the stressed levees and the waters begin to rise, the fear of disaster also mounts.

We're gathering your pictures of the flooding to share with our readers. Whether they're from last week, or the coming days, we want to see them.

Tweet them to us @RawStory with the hashtag #RawFlood, tag your pictures on Flickr with RawFlood, or email your shots to us at citizenmedia@rawstory.com. Please include a brief description, including date and location, and we'll add them to our slideshow, below.
