A week from today, Americans will head to the polls in an election that will determine the direction of our country for years to come.
The stakes are enormous. Control of Congress hangs in the balance. Across the country, voters are making decisions about the leaders who will shape our laws, protect our rights and hold those in power accountable.
At Raw Story, we believe every American deserves access to reliable, independent journalism to help them understand what's happening — and what's at stake.
That's why, on Tuesday, November 3rd, we're making all of Raw Story's 2026 midterm election coverage free for everyone.
For 24 hours, we're removing subscription restrictions from every story that's part of our midterm election coverage. Whether you're a longtime subscriber, an occasional reader or visiting Raw Story for the first time, you'll have unlimited access to our election reporting.
That includes our breaking news coverage, original reporting, in-depth investigations, commentary and analysis, and our live election blog, where we'll follow developments throughout the day and into the night.
No subscription required. No paywall. Just independent journalism when it matters most.
Since 2004, Raw Story has been committed to independent journalism that challenges powerful interests, asks difficult questions and holds those in power accountable.
That mission has never been more important.
We know that many Americans are struggling with the rising cost of living. We also know that access to trustworthy information is increasingly fragmented, with misinformation spreading rapidly across social media and political divisions making it harder to separate fact from fiction.
Quality journalism takes resources. Investigative reporting, in particular, requires time, expertise and a willingness to pursue stories that powerful people would rather keep hidden.
That's why subscriptions and reader contributions are essential to sustaining our newsroom.
But we also believe there are moments when the public's need for information must come first.
Election Day is one of those moments.
Our journalists have spent months covering the candidates, campaigns and controversies shaping this year's midterms. Our investigative team has been digging into the money, influence and behind-the-scenes decisions that voters deserve to know about before casting their ballots.
On November 3rd, we want that reporting to reach as many people as possible.
At a time when newsrooms across the country are shrinking and independent journalism faces growing financial pressures, Raw Story is investing.
We're expanding our investigative reporting, strengthening our original journalism and finding new ways to bring important stories to a larger audience.
Our goal isn't simply to tell readers what happened. It's to help them understand why it matters, who is responsible and what comes next.
And while our reporting often scrutinizes political leaders and powerful institutions, our commitment is to the facts, accountability and the public's right to know.
A healthy democracy depends on an informed electorate. That means access to credible reporting shouldn't be limited to those who can afford to pay for it.
Making our election reporting free for all readers is an investment in our mission, and we're asking for your help to make it possible.
If you're already a Raw Story subscriber, thank you. Your support makes the journalism we produce every day possible. This Election Day, we're asking you to help us extend that work to readers who might otherwise never have access to it.
If you're not a subscriber, we invite you to support this effort with a contribution of any amount.
Every donation helps sustain the journalists working to bring you the stories that matter.
We hope you'll join us next Tuesday, follow our live coverage, share our reporting with friends and family, and help us bring independent journalism to as many Americans as possible.
Because the more people who have access to the facts, the stronger our democracy becomes.
And that's a mission worth investing in.
