Rep. Ed Markey: Republicans 'are allergic to science'

Congressman Ed Markey (D-MA) appeared Thursday night on MSNBC's The Last Word to discuss the Republican presidential candidates wanted to dismantle the Environmental Protection Agency.

"Rick Perry and these other guys are allergic to science," Markey said. "And too many of the tea party people, who basically don't believe in science, are now controlling the Republican Party."

He added that the Republican Party was now controlled by the oil and coal industry.
