Republican who could kill Kavanaugh's confirmation says she's taking gang rape allegations 'very seriously'

Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine), one of the key Republican votes that could decide the fate of Brett Kavanaugh, says she's digging into allegations that the Supreme Court nominee may have facilitated and participated in gang rapes. The bombshell revelations and the identity of the accuser, Julie Swetnick, were released on Twitter Wednesday morning by her lawyer Michael Avenatti.

According to Politico congressional reporter Burgess Everett, Collins said she is reviewing Avenatti allegations and taking them “very seriously.” Collins told him that she wants the hearing to go forward and isn't sure the Senate could be voting on Kavanaugh over the weekend.
