During an extensive interview conducted with the Wall Street Journal, President Donald Trump praised Anthony Scaramucci for being "amazing" just days before he fired him.
The interview, which was published by Politico before the Journal could release it, was conducted before White House Communications Head Anthony Scaramucci was booted from the White House and before the repeal of Obamacare went down in flames in the Senate.
Asked about Trumpcare, the president immediately went on the defensive.
"I believe we’ve done more than just about any president of the United States in six months. And I was going to tell you before, so a lot of times I’ll turn on television or I’ll read in The Wall Street Journal, " Trump stated before speaking of himself in the third person.
"What’s Trump doing? He hasn’t produced health care. I’m not even six months yet, right?" Trump continued. "So these guys went eight years – Hillary Clinton, eight years, got nothing. Obama went a year and a half, almost two years, and they had to sell their soul. They had to give away the state of Nebraska in order to buy that vote. And that was two years. I’m six months. They got to give me a little break, OK? And today we’re having a big vote, and we’ll see what happens."
Asked about the White House in chaos with staff changes, the President blew the suggestion off.
"But we can’t expect any more staff changes in the immediate – in the immediate future?" Trump was asked.
"No, I don’t think so," he replied.
"No?"
"But I’m very happy with Anthony. I think Anthony is going to do amazing," Trump stated.
