REVEALED: Ukraine dropped Manafort corruption probe after funneling cash to Trump fixer Michael Cohen

A bombshell investigation by BBC News has revealed that the Ukrainian government paid Trump "fixer" Michael Cohen $400,000 to arrange talks between it and President Donald Trump.

What's more, the BBC notes that the Ukrainian government dropped its anti-corruption investigation into former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort after it paid for Cohen to arrange talks with Trump.

After making the payment, Ukrainian leader Petro Poroshenko subsequently did get a meeting with Trump at the White House last June.

According to the BBC, the Ukrainian government turned to Cohen because it was having little luck getting a meeting with Trump through traditional diplomatic channels. There is no evidence at this time that Trump knew of the payment to Cohen, the BBC's sources say.

Despite this, Poroshenko was frustrated by Cohen, as he initially had great trouble nailing down a lengthy meeting with the president.

"Poroshenko's inner circle was shocked by how dirty this whole arrangement," one source tells the BBC.

The BBC also reports that "one source in Kiev said Poroshenko had given Trump 'a gift' -- making sure that Ukraine would find no more evidence to give the US inquiry into whether the Trump campaign 'colluded' with Russia."
