Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was hammered Monday after video of him being escorted by security officials amid the White House Correspondents’ Dinner shooting on Saturday went viral, in which the HHS secretary was seen being tailed by his wife, Cheryl Hines.
“RFK Jr. rushed out of the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday amid an active shooter situation, with his security team around him, but left his wife scrambling on her own behind him,” wrote Zeteo reporters Preem Thakker and Andrew Perez in the outlet’s report Monday. “Not a good look, Bobby.”
The shooting sparked chaos at the Washington Hilton hotel in Washington, D.C., with Secret Service officials rushing President Donald Trump off stage, as well as other top administration officials and lawmakers. RFK Jr. was among those officials who were rushed to safety by security personnel, but in a viral clip that had been viewed nearly 1 million times, Hines could be seen following her husband, unattended, several feet behind.
“Serious question – why does Cheryl Hines stay with this loser?” asked political commentator Joanne Carducci, writing in a social media post on X to her more than 1 million followers.
“This is quite the image,”
