Russian 'troll farm' promoted a fake Hillary Clinton sex tape on Reddit — and 250K people saw it

A Kremlin-linked Russian "troll farm" promoted a porn video that claimed to be a Hillary Clinton sex tape on Reddit — and more than 250,000 people saw it.

NBC News' Ben Collins reported Tuesday that Rubinjer, one of the most popular accounts run by the St. Petersburg, Russia-based Internet Research Agency, posted links to the fake sex tape on multiple "subreddits," including ones aimed at pro-Trump users.

"This is How Hillary gets black votes," a link to the video published in r/The_Donald read. The "hidden camera"-style video features a white woman wearing a Clinton-esque wig with her face obscured engaged in sex acts with a black man.

The video, Collins reported, was published multiple times on PornHub.com under the title "Leaked Hillary Clinton’s Hotel Sex Tape with Black Guy." After the video's existence was publicized, the website took the video down — but not before it was viewed more than 250,000 times.

In a user announcement on Tuesday, Reddit said the Rubinjer account was banned with 944 others for "suspected Russian Internet Research Agency origin." Many of the accounts, Collins noted, had ample interaction from Reddit users.
