White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders on Wednesday insisted that President Donald Trump has been "incredibly active this week" even though he has not scheduled any public events for the past five days.
Trump's decision not to schedule public events came at the same time that adult film star Stormy Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, was interviewed on CBS's 60 Minutes about an alleged affair with the president.
At Wednesday's briefing, one reporter pointed out that it has been days since Trump took an official question from the press.
"Look, the president has got a major speech tomorrow," Sanders opined without saying whether Trump would take questions. "He's been incredibly active all week long. We've taken major actions in trade negotiations as well as expelling intel officers from Russia."
"Is he too busy to take questions?" the reporter wondered.
"Look, we take questions from you guys every day," the press secretary snapped. "And right now, I'm standing up here taking questions from you, which I did yesterday, which [Deputy Press Secretary Raj Shah] did on Monday. And the president is speaking directly to the American people tomorrow."
