Sarah Palin could be making a return to politics in the age of Trump

Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin says she would run for vice president again, but she would like to do it differently.

“I would do it again in a heartbeat,” Palin said when asked by Fox News host Mark Levin if she was glad she was chosen for the presidential ticket in 2008. "Heck, yeah."

Palin — who resigned from her governorship after Sen. John McCain's failed campaign rocketed her national political stardom — said she would do things differently if she ran again.

"I'd push back harder on some of those who were trying to mold me into something that I was not in the campaign," she said. "I would have pushed back and gotten more truth out there."

Palin became a political phenomenon when she entered the 2008 campaign as a virtual unknown. She was immediately praised as a fresh pick by McCain, boasting folksy charm and considerable charisma.

As the 2008 campaign progressed, Palin gave a series of interviews that seemed to reveal that she had a superficial knowledge of policy and weak grasp of foreign affairs. Many believe Palin was a major factor in dragging McCain to failure.
