Sarah Sanders: Trump considering pulling security clearances for Brennan, Comey, Clapper, Hayden, Rice and McCabe

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Monday said President Donald Trump is considering revoking the security clearances of multiple former law enforcement officials who have been critical of his presidency.

Specifically, Sanders said Trump might pull the security clearances from former CIA Directors John Brennan and Michael Hayden, former FBI Director James Comey, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, former national security adviser Susan Rice, and former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe.

All five former officials, who rose through the ranks under both Republican and Democratic presidents, have been publicly critical of the way Trump has conducted himself, particularly the way he has refused to say whether he believes his own intelligence agencies more than Russian President Vladimir Putin.

In justifying the president possibly removing these former officials' security clearances, Sanders accused them all of "monetizing" their security clearances for personal gain.

Sanders went on to say that "at this point" there were no plans to revoke the security clearances of former President Barack Obama and former Vice President Joe Biden.
